Monday Monday...

Ok, so as for the giveaway - definitely going to happen! Now I've had the idea, I keep seeing things I want to get for it - it's going to be great :) Mixture of make-up, jewellery, smellies, clothes - dunno, bit of everything! I'll confirm details (when I've decided them!), but am now thinking that maybe 40 followers is a more obtainable goal than 50..?

So, here are some snippets of my work outfit today:

Have just noticed that my ENTIRE outfit is comprised of Primark purchases (apart from the jewellery):

  • Dress - £5 (sale - ages ago)
  • Cardigan - £5 (sale - not so long ago - first time I've worn it)
  • Tights - £1 (can't go wrong with Primark tights - they're bloody great!)
  • Shoes - £6 (had these AGES - have also got the exact same pair, in cream & a pretty lilacy/blue)
  • Scarf - £2.50 I think - again, had this a very long time
  • Necklace - eBay
  • Rings - Ethel Austin & H&M

You may well notice that I'm very unlikely to do full outfit posts - even though they tend to be my favourite kind of posts that other people do! This is mainly down to the fact I'm highly unphotogenic (apart from my hands apparently!) & I'm not actually comfortable in my own body, therefore tend to dislike pics of myself. I've put on quite a lot of weight in a relatively short space of time, & it's like my mind still hasn't caught up with my body - so I'm still surprised & horrified when I see myself in pictures sometimes, how big I am. I'm a good couple of dress sizes bigger than my mind remembers me being (although I only used to be a size 8..) So I don't really want to post that on the internet! Will keep sharing things I've bought & are wearing though, just not in proper outfit posts. Hope that's ok!

So, as I've previously mentioned, I'm having a pretty hard time of it at the moment. I don't want to go into why or anything, but as a consequence, I'm not sleeping very well. At all. I've never been a great sleeper, but at the moment I'm averaging 3hrs a night - & even that sleep is broken. As a result of this - the bags under my eyes are horrendous! I've always been dark under my eyes, but it's getting ridiculous - I look like I've been in a boxing ring, my under eyes are so purple. They don't go puffy or anything, just really dark. & I get paler when I'm tired, so that accentuates even more. Anyway, there was a point to this rambling! I've just ordered this:

Tis a L'oreal Visible Lift Under Eye Concealer. Now, gotta be honest - this area is not my expertise - so was wondering if anyone had any experience of this product? Is it any good? I'm not too worried, as I've ordered it anyway - but it's only from eBay (brand new & sealed, obviously), & I've paid £2 including p&p, so it's not the end of the world if it's not amazing. I was just wondering!

Right, this post feels like it's taken forever to compose - so I'd best leave it there I think.
(Actually, on that point - do you think I write too much? Would you prefer more images, less text? Let me know your opinions! Not that I'll necessarily take any notice :p but I'd be interested to hear)

Take care,

Dx

  3. i know what you mean about the weight thing. i put like nearly 2 stone in a year, going up a dress size, sometimes 2 depending where i shop, and i always feel ok about my body when i look in the mirror at home, but the moment i leave the house or someone takes a photo of me i'm like pow! it hits you. you just have to learn to love your figure- it takes time but we will all get there someday!
i have quite bad circles under my eyes naturally (i look like wednesday addams without make up on!) and i really like maybelline's dream mousse concealer- like the foundation but it's in a smaller spot. it really works so well for covering up dark circles! x

  5. I understand what you mean about the weight, i constantly have to watch what i eat, and i get really bored of it. I dont think it matters what size you are, when you have gorgeous clothes and accessroies like you do! You dont write to much either, i love reading it! Cant wait for the giveaway!

  8. Great pics, I often think snippets of detail make up better posts that a full outfit pic. Love the nautical theme going on, a splash of red would have worked really well too. Pretty necklace.

Hope the sleep thing figures itself out soon xxx

  10. I love the snippets, I've had to take my 'full picture' posts off my blog when it started to be linked on football sites. However, I love your idea and may take it up myself. I also think the posts are lovely and interesting. I do hope you sleep better soon, it is such a vicious circle sometimes xx

  12. I understand about the whole weight thing, I've been on a diet for a while now, and have lost quite abit of weight, but I hate taking pictures cause I still feel like I look chubby!
I think when you do outfit posts it really helps you get over the weight thing, SO many bloggers do outfit posts that are in the size 14+ range and they never, as far as I am aware, get bad comments. I believe it doesn't matter what weight you are :) And I love when my outfits just consist of primark ha, makes me feel cheap! ;D xxxx

  16. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable with my photos - I don't think I'm particularly photogenic either, and I look much bigger on camera than I am in real life! I delete so many photos and sometimes remove them from posts after they've gone live, too. Just post what you're comfortable with - your followers will love you whatever you do!

I hope you feel better about everything soon. If it cheers you up at all, I can get the Time For Tea necklace back in stock for you? I've just placed an order with my supplier and can add the teapot charm to it if you let me know tonight. Just drop me an email if you're interested - littlebirdfashion@googlemail.com. And no worries if you're saving the pennies! :) xx
